About Us

Construction of the state of the art Log Cabin (Neighbourhood Learning Centre) was completed in 2009 and represents a structure of breathtaking beauty and functionality.

The Neighbourhood Learning centre has a large multi function hall complete with licensed bar which can be partitioned into three sections, ideal for meetings, parties, conferences, wedding receptions, sports activities and training courses.

Also available is a fully functioning kitchen, 3 toilets which include a disabled toilet, 1 office and an ICT suite which is tutor directed with a state of the art interactive white board and capacity for 12 computer spaces able to accomodate wired or wireless access to the internet.

The hall has a massive 150 inch projector and screen installed ideal for conferences and meetings.

The NLC offers a diverse range of courses and activities including ICT courses (beginner), digital photography, Sure Start & driving theory, karate and a wide variety of youth activities and sports.

Other initiatives include a successful gardening project in local allotments (including new onsite raised bed for gardens), Work Club, provided by Communities 1st, and a “Walking Bus” to the junior/ infant’s school which has built up to 30 children daily.

The whole community has benefited from these initiatives, which has helped improve health, fitness and well being, encourage community participation, raise self esteem and self confidence and reduce crime in the area.

Birthday party packages start from just £70. A £20 deposit to be paid to secure booking slot, fully refundable after event.
